Parisian mozzarella specialty sandwich store Mmmozza has set its sights on Japan, having launched its first overseas outpost in Harajuku this March, and its second branch in Aoyama just last week.
Well-loved for its signature buffalo mozzarella sandwiches, Mmmozza was founded in 2011 by Yannig Samot whilst traveling around Italy sourcing the freshest and finest ingredients. Freshly made and air-flown in from France, Mmmozza’s buffalo mozzarella is milky and creamy, its rich and thick consistency the work of an expert hand.
While none of the sandwiches on the menu disappoint, standouts include “Gorce,” which brims with gorgonzola cheese and arugula, its mellow nuttiness adding flavor and vitality, as well as the best-selling “Laura,” which comprises buffalo mozzarella, arugula, and your choice of house-cured charcuterie: prosciutto, salami or mortadella.
Vegetarian options include “Yaya,” a toasty sandwich consisting of roasted zucchini and tomatoes alongside mozzarella. You can also choose your preference of bread – baguette, ciabatta or focaccia. Wash it down with a glass of their signature apéro, or organic beer and wine.
