If you love the feel of feathers brushing across your cheeks, make sure you position yourself close to the stage as the Brazilian samba dancers make their grand entrance at the Veuve Clicquot Carnaval. Their glittering feathered costumes stole the show last night as the festivities kicked off, giving the opening night of this pop-up champagne bar a certain kind of magic.
On until June 11, the event sees Roppongi Hills’ O-yane Plaza transformed into a bright orange and pink carnival setting, complete with plenty of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label and Rosé Label champagne, and delicious snacks by L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon (be sure to try the raspberry tarts – they’re like little bundles of pure berry joy).
Selfie fans won’t be disappointed, either: look for the white mini stage with a swing and ostrich feathers; and find your way to the end of the “garden” for a snap with a vivid orange truck decorated with lights and, yes, feathers.
Tickets for the event cost from ¥1,200 to ¥14,000 depending on which day and champagne course you opt for. To check the opening hours, and to buy tickets, go to our event listing.
