Disney is by far the king of licensing the world over. And the Japanese reign supreme when it comes to taking an idea from somewhere else and completely localizing it with a unique stamp. Put the two together and you get this Mickey Mouse on Harajuku’s Takeshita-dori.
He has been girl-ified to the extreme––check out the flowers, the sparkles, the diamantes, the trinkets, the jewelry, the patterns, even the pose! And I think Mickey is a better mouse for it. Would Walt Disney agree?
