I love to cook and I especially love trying out new stuff in the kitchen. So I was rapt to discover this fantastic little gem, hidden on the basement floor of Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi: ABC Cooking Studio. This place is always a hive of activity, with delicious aromas wafting out of the studio door, leaving passersby like me hungry –– and wanting more! This open-plan cooking center is very inviting appeal and the staff are thrilled to get foreigners involved. Various courses in English are also offered, including how to cook some of the most popular Japanese dishes going around, such as nikujaga gozen and gyudon…and I have just signed up for my first lesson (I will be learning how to cook the “Japanese Party Plate”. What that is exactly, is anybody’s guess…).
