Organized by Ebisu Atelier d’Art, Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School has been an entertaining nighttime drawing and sketching event in Tokyo since 2006. This alternative art event usually has burlesque models posing for artists and sketching newbies alike and takes place every month (with some exceptions). Sketching is just one part of it, the other is socializing with a drink in hand and making friends.
Just like you don’t have to be a singer to do karaoke, you don’t have to be an artist to join a Dr. Sketchy event. There’s also no need to make a reservation. Just bring paper and a pencil and try to draw or ask artists for advice.

Model for the December event: Lady Nana

Lady Nana is a prominent burlesque performer who runs the After Party Tokyo cabaret in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. During the day, she works as a company executive, and while working at the company, she also supports women with multi-career careers who are active as performers and artists. She also manages original projects such as the “One-Day Showgirl Experience” in which 100 ordinary girls take to the stage each year.
