The Emoji-Loving Artist Duo Is Back
FriendsWithYou, the artistic duo known for their bright emoji installations, returns to Japan for the second time this year with a show at the Parco Museum Tokyo, on the fourth floor of Shibuya Parco.
The exhibition showcases a collection of fantasy-inspired paintings and a free ride called “Memory Wave” in the atrium of Parco’s fourth floor. The story behind the exhibition, titled “Ocean: Temple of the Sacred Heart,” is inspired by a myth from the fictional Book of Ocean. The Kawaii Saints and Martyrs depicted in the paintings are meant to heal humans from their dependence on devices, and spark the ocean within us, connecting the soul with nature again.
