Ice Skating Under Sparkling Lights

This year marks the 23rd anniversary of Marunouchi Illumination. Around 286 trees in the Marunouchi area will be adorned with approximately 820,000 sparkling champagne gold LED bulbs. The lights create a magical atmosphere along the 1.2-kilometer stretch.

Gyoko-dori Avenue, the area directly in front of the iconic Tokyo Station, will also have beautiful illuminations. Around 36,000 lightbulbs will decorate the trees surrounding its seasonal ice skating rink from November 28 to December 25.

Marunouchi Street Park, stretching for about 500 meters across Marunouchi-Nakadori Avenue, will host a Christmas market with food trucks and even more illuminations from November 14 to December 25. The food trucks will be serving hot, limited-edition menus to fit the holiday season such as mince pies, chocolate pudding, baked goods, hot chocolate, pumpkin soup and hot sangria.

Marunouchi Street Park will have special souvenirs in collaboration with Harmonier. Souvenirs include two snow globe designs featuring the Marunouchi area’s mascot, Maruken. Five-star hotel The Peninsula Tokyo will offer special Marunouchi Honey Maruken cookie tins.
