See Tokyo’s Iconic Stations Reimagined in Miniature Landscapes
Experience Tokyo’s beloved Yamanote Line like never before in Erica Ward’s solo exhibition, Yamanote Bonsai, running from November 20 to December 2 at Yoyogi Art Gallery. This imaginative collection pairs each of the 30 Yamanote stations with a unique bonsai illustration, capturing the essence of Tokyo’s neighborhoods through Ward’s skillful watercolor and ink. Each work depicts Tokyo’s vibrant areas transformed into serene bonsai, such as momiji maples and junipers, blending urban life with traditional Japanese artistry. In addition to the original artworks, visitors can browse and purchase art books, prints, and an assortment of Ward’s illustrations.
