Everything You Need To Know About This Super Sweet Event

Tokyo Disneyland has transformed into a kingdom of sweets. From January 15 to March 16, the park will be covered in a treat-themed overlay as part of the new Vanellope’s Sweet Pop World event. This is the third installment of the Pal-Palooza campaign, following the popular Minnie’s Funderland and Donald’s Quacky Duck City celebrations last year. This time, Vanellope von Schweetz from Wreck It Ralph is taking over with new entertainment, photo spots, exclusive merchandise, menus and more.

Entertainment

Vanellope’s Sweet Pop World comes with a new candy-themed parade titled “It’s a Sweetsful Time!” This 35-minute parade runs once a day and features a variety of characters including the Disney Princesses, Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, and of course, Vanellope herself. Mickey and friends are also featured wearing new costumes with various sweets motifs.

Guests have the option to purchase Disney Premier Access passes for priority seating at an extra cost. The priority viewing areas are located in front of Plaza Garden and in front of Maurice’s Cottage. Guests with Tokyo Disney Resort Vacation Package reservations also have designated viewing areas for this parade in front of Plaza Garden.

If you see a cast member, say “Happy Palpalooza!” and you will receive a free candy.

Decorations and Photo Spots

Tokyo Disneyland has become a dessert wonderland with colorful decorations. Right at the entrance of the park, the usual Mickey garden display has transformed into a lollipop swirl. The entrance into World Bazaar also has banners and signage of the special event. Various displays throughout the park make the perfect photo spots.

You can take a commemorative photo with a Disney photographer. A special illustrative frame with candies and balloons will be overlaid on top of the photo. Photos taken with official Disney photographers will show up under the “My Photos” tab in the Tokyo Disney Resort app. You can also print your photos at the Digital Photo Express stations. For more information, including locations, schedule and wait times, please check the app and website.

Merchandise

Exclusive merchandise is now available for this limited event. Wearable goods include headbands, hats, shoulder bags, phone accessories and hoodies. The Sweet Poppin’ Stick is a lollipop-shaped wand that you can use to cheer during the parade. Gear up with your favorite merchandise to celebrate.

Various other merchandise is also available, including plush toys, stationery, towel sets, cushions, cookies, chocolates and candy. These goods feature artwork of Vanellope with various Disney characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
