JNTO Giving away 1,000 origami cranes to visitors
Mitsubishi Estate, in cooperation with the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), is holding the “Thank You” Origami Crane Campaign which began on March 11, 2012, in gratitude of the support from overseas tourists who visit Japan.
Since relocating to Marunouchi in January 2012, the JNTO Tourist Information Center (TIC) has welcomed many international visitors each day seeking information on the many sites the area has to offer. At the “gateway to Japan,” Marunouchi is often the first tourist destination visited by overseas travelers coming to Japan.
The “Thank You” Origami Crane Campaign was established to express appreciation and welcome international travelers, who, when visiting the JNTO TIC in Marunouchi, will receive a free paper origami crane.
A total of 1,000 cranes made by people in the Marunouchi area will be handed out.
That’s not all, when visitors present the origami crane at the Marunouchi café Ease (1F Marunouchi Building) they will receive a free cup of coffee! (through April 6).
Tokyoites and tourists can also enjoy the sakura – cherry blossom festival – at Marucube (March 31 through April 6).
