A flight attendant is out of job after posting hostile comments on her Facebook page about a passenger who turned out to be the daughter of ousted Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
The Thai flight attendant, who Cathay Pacific declined to identify, came under investigation for alleged misconduct after posting that she wanted to pour coffee on Paetongtarn Shinawatra when she found out who she was, AFP reports.
“I could not work knowing the daughter of my enemy was on the plane,” the flight attendant reportedly wrote on her Facebook.
“I didn’t throw coffee in her face today but she had no clue that I will keep on fighting until your clan can no longer live like fleas on the Thai soil.”
The woman also posted a picture of Paetongtarn’s seating number on the Bangkok-to-Hong Kong flight on November 25, which was unauthorized and against privacy rules, the airline said, adding that the flight attendant was no longer with the company.
Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra survived a no-confidence motion following a massive anti-government protest in Bangkok. The opposition accused her of being a puppet of her brother, Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted in a 2006 coup and is in self-imposed exile following a corruption conviction in 2008.
