An Afternoon Tea Set Based on Paul Cézanne’s Masterpiece

For a limited time, diners at bar and lounge Whisk, on the 16th floor of the luxury hotel, Mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection, can enjoy an afternoon tea set based on Paul Cézanne’s masterpiece “Sugar Bowl, Pears, and Tablecloth.” It’s the 12th chapter of the Afternoon Exhibition series and the second time for the hotel to collaborate with the Pola Museum of Art.

It features eight savory and sweet dishes that trace the life of Cézanne and the history of France, plus a special postcard from the Pola Museum of Art. The main plate then recreates Cézanne’s iconic painting using three traditional French sweets: a nougat glacée ice cream in the shape of an apple, a poire belle-Hélène shaped as a pear and a sugar jar made of granité, featuring France’s most beloved champagne, Moët & Chandon.

From September 13, Mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection will also be selling its traditional French pastry Canelé for guests to take home as a souvenir.
