Tokyo Nightlife Meets Showa Music Nostalgia
Get ready to fall into the groove of Showa Kayo Night this November! As autumn leaves drop, so do our inhibitions for a night of iconic Japanese oldies spanning the fabulous 50s through the electric 80s. Whether you’re into rockin’ garage sounds, toe-tapping disco or infectious city pop anthems, this retro blast has you covered. Organized by American expatriate and DJ, Justin Miller and long-time Tokyo nightlife mainstay Ayano Umejima, Showa Kayo Night is a monthly Japanese music DJ event that has been ongoing for the past 10 years. DJs Ayano, Dandy, Taihen Tymen and a mystery guest will spin tunes hotter than a muffler collection in Shibuya’s MIYASHITA PARK. Expect locals, tourists, and expats mingling like old friends as salarymen boogie with Swedes and Showa-era queens.
