This March, Team Mix Up Misc., an immersive theatre group, will perform “Tanizaki at Night Museum: Theatrical Reading of Shunkinsho” with shamisen, dance and nihonga.
Blending traditional Japanese music and dance with a theatrical reading of The Story of Shunkin (Shunkinso), a novel by renowned Japanese author Junichiro Tanizaki, the performance will feature shamisen player Tsugahana Tsuruzawa and dancer Shawn Kanda Farrell.
The performance will take place at Yamatane Museum of Art, which specialises in nihonga (Japanese art). Taking place after the museum closes for the day, the audience will have an extremely rare opportunity to enter the museum at night.
