Tokyo Banana treats are some of the city’s most popular souvenirs, and this March 1 saw the release of a new, limited-edition flavor based on banana shakes.
The banana shake-flavored treats, which are only available through this summer, are decorated with a flower pattern, and are filled with banana custard cream. The outer sponge cake, meanwhile, has a fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth texture and a vanilla flavor.
Meanwhile, the packaging has another limited-edition surprise. The final “na” in banana is written with the kanji character for wild vegetables, further enhancing the spring-summer theme.
You can get your hands on this limited-edition Tokyo Banana flavor at major stations such as Tokyo, Shinagawa and Ueno, as well as Haneda Airport and, of course, Tokyo Banana World.
