Combining a wine shop, a restaurant and a bar, a new-style of shop opened behind Roppongi station at the end of September.

The Wine Shop Sommelier

Sommelier’s unique point, which allows it to feature some of the finest imported wine in the world, is a cellar that is 5 meters below ground and holds more than 800 kinds of wine. The staff deal directly with wineries, making these high quality wines to be available at lower than market places — quite possibly at the lowest prices in Japan.
On-site sommeliers will assist you, making it easier to find your favorites, gifts for upcoming Christmas or any occasion, and daily wines.

Wines purchased at Wine Shop Sommelier can of course be taken home, or you can take them next door to Wine Dining Sakura for a corkage fee of only ¥500 and enjoy them with your meal.

The Wine Dining Sakura

Complementing Sommelier is the casual restaurant Wine Dining Sakura. The restaurant is named for the Cherry tree in front of the shop. Dishes from Italian, French and Spanish cuisine are suggested to match the wine you have selected. Sakura has its own specially ordered brick oven from the World famous craftsman Johnny Akunt. The main table overlooks the open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs industriously preparing food and baking pizzas. Pinchos are available from ¥150, tapas from ¥300.

The Bar

In a corner of the shop outfitted with sofas, chic tables and a  counter, designed specially with cherry tree changing lights for the evening. Pay per order standing bar is offered at the counter for customers just interested in having some wine or drink.

With over 15 kinds of wine available by the glass from ¥450 each, this affordability is the secret of the wholesaler. Cocktails and beers follow suit, including Heineken Extra Cold; using a special draft tower, the beer is served below freezing, making it extra creamy. And just to round things off, quality coffees are available with skilled baristas decorate your latte or cappuccino to perfection.
