Craving food on a stick or anything grilled? Then head over to the walkway from the NHK building in Shibuya to Yoyogi Park. If you know where the Yoyogi flea market is on the cemented area, there are a about a dozen food stalls set up there on Sundays to accommodate the flea market bargain seekers as well as the Yoyogi dancing Elvis’ watchers.
I don’t know the name of food below, nor do I know what everything is but that is the beauty and fun of trying street food. For only a few hundred yen, you can taste everything with no commitment. You never know what you’re going to get. The strangest street food I tried was steamed potato topped with kimchi, butter, corn, salted squid and mayonnaise! Sunday Street food has something for everyone. Get out there and try! Have a favorite street food in Japan? Leave a comment and let us know.
