Originating from the Indian subcontinent, mehndi is a beautiful hand art that uses a natural henna paste to create intricate deep red designs on the hands and feet that will fade away in coming days. While commonly used for special occasions like festivals and weddings, ‘henna tattoos’ have become a popular art form around the world in recent years.
My dear friend Mari is an amazing mehndi artist here in Tokyo. My life is currently undergoing big changes and challenges- all of which are opportunities to grow. I was, therefore, deeply touched by the beautiful original design she created on my forearm.
