North Korea ruling communist party’s newspaper, Rodong Sinmum, has desperately lambasted South Korea’s conservative ruling party’s Park Geun-Hye, its leading presidential hopeful.
Park Geun-Hye is the daughter of then-Major General Park Chung-Hee, the leader of the 1961 military coup. He drove the South’s dramatic economic development “at the cost of serious human rights abuses”.
The comments are part of the string of hurtful comments from the North, which was previously critical of President Lee Myung-bak, calling him a “rat and human scum”.
Park is seen as a front-runner that would likely succeed Lee in the December presidential election, and has recently been the focus of insults. The commentary said “the remnants of Park’s dictatorship are ‘shameless enough’ to project his daughter Geun-Hye in a bid to ‘gratify the greed for power'”. The newspaper further berated, “A dictator’s bloodline cannot change away from its viciousness”.
